Mark-Paul Meyer graduated in philosophy at the University of Amsterdam and in photography at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam. He was editor of the film magazine SKRIEN and is currently senior curator of the EYE Filmmuseum in Amsterdam. He was co-editor of the book ‘Restoration of Motion Picture Film’ (Oxford 2000) and co-author of a number of DVD productions. He wrote and directed several films and video’s: Sing a Song (16mm, 1990), Our Inflammable Film Heritage (16mm, 1994), On Jimmy Jancey (DV, 2003 with Martin de Ruiter), He Died of the Fourth Stroke (DV, 2003). For the Aegina Academy he co-realized the DVD installation Breaking News (2003) and he curated in 2005 the exhibition ‘Kino Illusion’ on the illusion of movement in cinema. He is a staff member of the MA course Preservation and Presentation of the Moving Image at the University of Amsterdam.
